Rynn Lim to hold 1st KL concert

KUALA LUMPUR: Taiwan-based Malaysian singer-songwriter Rynn Lim Yee Chung (Lin Yu Zhong, in Mandarin) will hold his first concert on home ground on Dec 8.
Only two years after his debut, Lim has become the hottest new Malaysian artiste in the Chinese music industry.
“To be able to hold my own concert in my homeland means a great deal to me,” he told a press conference here yesterday. “Not many local artistes have been able to do that.”
For Lim, 2006 was the year that marked the beginning of all good things.
Between the release of his first album, 1st, in 2005 and his second, In the Rain (Ling Yu Zhong) this year, he has won a slew of best new artiste awards in Taiwan, China and Malaysia.
Last year, he starred in his very first TV drama series, The Beginning (Yuan Dian), as the male lead, Tie Dong-liang.
He is currently filming his second drama series, Astro’s Smile For Me, scheduled to be aired later this year.
This year, he has also been named Sony’s spokesperson for its latest range of digital cameras, Cyber-shot T-100, as well as ambassador for the Korean online game, Granado Espada.
When asked who will be his guest artiste, Lim said: “The company hasn’t confirmed this yet. But, personally, I’d like to invite Sheila Majid to be my guest artiste.”
Lim had a duet with Sheila Majid on his self-penned Melody, in which the jazz queen sang in Malay and he in Mandarin.
Tickets for his concert at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre’s Plenary Hall will be available at Berjaya Time Square (centre court) from Nov 11.
Tickets are priced at RM80, RM120, RM150, RM180 and RM250. Posters of the singer will be given out for every purchase on that day.
Fans will be glad to know that Lim will be there to launch the ticket sales at 11.11am on that day.
